UGC NET Exam 2024: The UGC NET exam held on June 18 was canceled by the National Testing Agency last night. After which today an official of the Ministry of Education has said that no complaint was received about the examination. The Ministry of Education took cognizance on the basis of the information available in the interest of the students and took the decision and the examination was canceled. Govind Jaiswal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Education said that the details of the decision cannot be shared.

Joint Secretary of Education Ministry, Govind Jaiswal says that UGC-NET exam has been cancelled. No complaint was received about the exam, but it was cancelled keeping in mind the interests of the students. The matter has been handed over to the CBI and investigation is on. On receiving information about the sanctity of the exam being violated, the exam was cancelled on a suo motu basis. This decision was taken on the basis of information received from the agencies.

New date will come soon

The joint secretary said that the UGC-NET exam conducted by NTA has been cancelled due to irregularities. The education ministry has ordered a CBI probe into the matter. New exam dates will be announced soon.

So many candidates had registered

A total of 11,21,225 candidates had registered to appear for the UGC NET exam this year, which is conducted to determine the eligibility of Indian citizens for the post of Assistant Professor in Indian universities and colleges as well as Junior Research Fellowship. According to reports, a total of 9,08,580 candidates appeared in the exam. NTA conducted the UGC-NET exam in 83 subjects in OMR (pen and paper) mode in two shifts in various cities of the country on June 18, 2024.
